Possibily Proto-Indo-European root which gave rise similar Hittite words "alwanzahh "bewitch" and alwanatar "magic" the Greek word "aluein "rage or ecstasy" amongst many others. It does appear in numerous runestones, carved items, rings, and medalions, etc."
